In total, the number of Belgians in the RAF amounted to over 1200 men, both pilots and ground personnel. They were involved in large operations (the landings at Normandy and Market Garden) and were present at Burma, Africa, and the Mediterranean. In total the Belgian pilots achieved 161 victories; 201 Belgians lost their lives.
